Peanut butter cookies, easy recipe, great for kids to make
Peanut Butter Cookies are an all-time favorite for both adults and kids. They are very common in the USA, but word has spread globally about how good they are, and it takes a lot of effort to resist eating these delicious, easy to bake cookies!
For an extra treat you could sandwich two of these cookies together with peanut butter or nutella spread in the middle!
Store in an airtight container for a couple of days, if you can resist eating them all at once!
Preheat the oven to 350 F / 180 C
Prepare a baking sheet / cookie sheet for baking by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment or baking paper.
Put the butter, peanut butter, white sugar and brown sugar into a mixing bowl and use an electric hand-held mixer to cream everything together.
Add in the egg and beat together to combine.
Sieve the flour, bicarbonate of soda and the baking powder into the mixing bowl.
Using your hands (this bit is a little bit messy!) roll the Peanut Butter Cookie dough into balls, about the size of walnuts, and place on the prepared baking sheet, allowing space between each cookie so that they can rise without sticking together.
Use a fork or the back of a spoon to lightly flatten down the surface of each cookie before baking.
Bake in the oven for 12 - 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before transferring them to a wire tray to cool completely.
